Mark W. Kennedy, President and Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Kennedy is President and Chief Executive Officer of Rockwall Hospitals, Inc. Mr. Kennedy has significant results oriented hospital development and management experience. Before co-founding Rockwall Hospital Corporation in 1999, Mr. Kennedy was the Chief Operating Officer for Cornerstone Health Management, a $100 Million Dallas, Texas based hospital contract service company. He was Vice President of Development for Brim Healthcare of Portland, Oregon, and while responsible for covering approximately one half the United States, Mr. Kennedy developed over $200 Million in managed revenues for the corporation. Mr. Kennedy was Senior Vice President and co-founder of Dallas, Texas based Epic Healthcare Services, Inc., growing this enterprise to the 3rd largest U.S. for-profit hospital management company in less than three years, managing over $1.2 Billion in gross revenues. Mr. Kennedy was the Southwest Vice President for business development with Quorum Health Resources and Director of Development with The ServiceMaster Company of Chicago, Illinois. Mr. Kennedy began his healthcare career starting with Baxter/American Hospital Supply Corporation and later with General Medical Corporation. Mr. Kennedy received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from Stephen F. Austin State University, Nacogdoches, Texas. He is a retired Major with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves.

 

Daniel L. Gideon, FACHE

Mr. Gideon serves Rockwall Hospitals, Inc. as Chief Operating Officer. He brings more than 24 years of hospital management expertise to Rockwall Hospitals, Inc. His hospital career began with Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, Texas. Mr. Gideon’s work experience successfully spans both the for-profit and not for profit arenas of hospital operational management. He served as Chief Financial Officer for the 768 bed, 6-hospital, East Texas Medical Center Regional Healthcare System based in Tyler, Texas. Mr. Gideon served as Chief Financial Officer at Hospital Corporation of America’s (HCA) 107 bed acute care hospital in El Paso, Texas. Mr. Gideon also served in senior executive management positions in several HCA Houston hospitals (Bellaire Medical Center, Sam Houston Memorial Hospital, and Spring Branch Medical Center) where he transitioned for the hospital Chief Financial Officer role to Chief Operating Officer, then Chief Executive Officer. Later, he joined Paracelsus Healthcare Corporation as Regional Chief Financial Officer responsible for managing gross revenues exceeding $800 million in 8-acute care hospitals located in Texas, California, North Dakota, and Utah. Mr. Gideon’s breadth of operational experience in hospitals ranging in size from 100 beds to over 400 beds, make him a uniquely qualified and valuable addition to the Rockwall team.

A former U.S. Army paratrooper, Mr. Gideon graduated from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in music. After teaching for two years, he completed his MBA and commenced his career in health care administration. Mr. Gideon also has attained professional credentials as a certified public accountant (CPA) and a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.

 

Michael A. Vaughn

Mr. Vaughn serves Rockwall Hospitals, Inc. as Chief Financial Officer. He brings more than 20 years of healthcare management expertise to Rockwall Hospitals, Inc. Mr. Vaughn’s work experience has been with privately held as well as publicly held for-profit companies. Before joining RHI, Mr. Vaughn served as Chief Financial Officer for Crown Hospital Partners, Inc. a McKinney, Texas based healthcare consulting company. Prior to Crown Mr. Vaughn held senior executive management positions with Leland Medical Centers, Inc. serving as Vice President of Finance, Vice President of Operations Finance and Regional Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Vaughn has served in various public hospital companies (Clarent, Province and Ornda) as Assistant Vice President of Operations Finance, Assistant Vice President of Corporate Finance and Director of Accounting. He has also served as Chief Financial Officer for two acute care hospitals, one in Virginia and the other in Texas.

Mr. Vaughn graduated from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas with Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting with emphasis in Finance. Mr. Vaughn is a certified public accountant (CPA).

 

Olin F. McCormick, MA

Mr. McCormick serves Rockwall Hospitals, Inc. as Senior Vice President-Development. Mr. McCormick’s Healthcare career includes extensive operations management positions with for profit and not for profit healthcare systems. Prior to joining Rockwall Hospitals, Inc., he served as President and Executive Vice President of SunStone Behavioral Health, Inc. where his leadership and implementations contributed greatly in propelling the parent company “Psychiatric Solutions, Inc.” (PSYS: symbol New York Stock Exchange) from a private enterprise to a $250 Million public corporation. In his capacity with SunStone, Mr. McCormick had financial and operational responsibility for over 40 hospital specialty management contracts, located throughout the United States. Mr. McCormick successfully served as hospital COO and CEO at several of National Medical Enterprises hospitals which ranged in size from 80 to 110 beds with average revenues exceeding $20 Million. Prior to entering the healthcare field, he served as a Research Associate at Southern Methodist University and Associate professor at North Texas State University. He is published with over thirty professional books and articles. Mr. McCormick holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Georgia State University, Atlanta, Georgia, a Masters from The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, North Carolina and a Masters from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas. He is a Member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. Mr. McCormick served as an Officer in the U.S. Army Intelligence Service.

 

Pierre M. Dossman, MS, FACHE

Mr. Dossman serves Rockwall Hospitals, Inc. as Vice President-Development. Mr. Dossman’s results oriented senior executive healthcare management experience provides important additional depth to the RHI team. Prior to joining Rockwall Hospitals, Inc., Mr. Dossman was Chief Operating Officer and President of the Contract Division for Cornerstone Health Management, a $100 Million Dallas, Texas based hospital contract specialty service company. He was Senior Vice President of Operations, Daughters of Charity, National Health Services East, of Linthicum, Maryland. Prior to these system/corporate level positions he served as Chief Executive Officer, Holy Cross Hospital, Austin, Texas. He also served as the COO at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. Mr. Dossman received his Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from Trinity University, San Antonio, Texas and his undergraduate degree from Texas A & M University, College Station, Texas. He has earned the distinction as a Fellow of The American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE).

 

 

Deby Pullins – Serves as Controller at Corporate Headquarters, Richardson, Texas.

Mrs. Pullins is Assistant Controller for Rockwall Hospitals, Incorporated. Mrs. Pullins has over 25 years of accounting experience that includes experience in a privately built and owned hospitals operated by HCA, an outside management company. Prior to joining Rockwall Hospitals, Inc., Mrs. Pullins held the positions of Manager of Accounting at Diebold, Inc., a publicly held company.
